An exciting opportunity is available for a QA Engineer to join a leading Oil & Gas manufacturing and services firm in their Gateshead facility.
Reporting directly to the QA Manager, you will play a key role in the maintenance and development of the QMS and assist in the planning and conducting of the internal audits. You will monitor and have responsibility for NCR’s, CAPA’s and raising, reviewing and confirming effectiveness of the actions introduced – to help drive the continuous improvement processes.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Be responsible for the QA final release inspection of aftermarket and product and product line in line with production schedule.
• Assist in the planning of and conduct and report internal and where required supplier audits.
• Support Aftermarket, Company Ops and Product lines in the management of third party and customer audits and inspection activities.
• Support the QA function and company and product lines in the management and continual improvement of the QMS.
• Review, revise, approve and publish QMS documentation as necessary for QA function, or to assist departmental managers/cell leaders in their QMS responsibilities.
• Monitor and drive the CAPA and NCR processes ensuring that actions taken are effective prior to closure.
• Manage the compliance of Third-Party Framework agreements with respect to aftermarket, ensuring compliance to such conditions.
• Work with third party organisation in the continued development of the written scheme of examination for mobile equipment integrity.
• Assist internal personnel in conducting their duties and perform final QA inspection release of equipment under the third-party framework agreements.
• Host CAPA/NCR meetings and liaise with appropriate staffing involved to ensure timely, effective actions are implemented.
• Assist in the preparation and approval of service quality plans, and where required specific customer quality plans.
• Support Aftermarket in the processing of CAPA’s and investigations resulting from SQE’s as required.
• Supporting the procurement and production planning team in the Material certificate (MTR) validation process, conducting MTR verification where required, and ensuring that the traceability process is adhered to.
• Review and verify welders’ qualifications in line with required timescales for aftermarket processes.
• Support and offer guidance to Company Aftermarket, Product line and Operations in respect of compliance to API/ISO specifications/standards as necessary.
• Liaise with suppliers to offer support, guidance and queries in respect of quality and technical requirements within the remit of the QA function.
• Support and offer guidance where required to QC Cell leader in respect of technical or process queries and/or improvements.
• Ensure that all statutory and regulatory safety and environmental requirements are adhered to in line with company procedures and policies.
• Attend Production meetings to support and identify production requirements in respect of QA requirements, as necessary.
• Ensure all company policies surrounding data control, health & safety, quality requirements and housekeeping are met
• Support wider certification function, by carrying out certification duties when business requirements dictate.
• Deputise for the Company Operations QA manager as required and authorised.
• Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager
• Be fully aware of personal workload, prioritise and organise to ensure deadlines are achieved.
• Travel when required as dictated by business need
Required Experience:
• Extensive experience of ISO9001 / API & QMS management and development.
• Qualified Internal Auditor to ISO9001.
• Experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Extensive knowledge of quality and root cause analysis tools.
